If you're craving for some good food, Shangri-La Plaza in Edsa is the place to go. Dome Cafe started in the Philippines mainly as a coffee place with signature dishes like pot pies, Panini sandwiches, fish and chips , soups and cakes. This Australian franchise is located at the Level 1 of the mall. After opening, there has been a clamor for more Asian choices so Dome followed by including rice dishes, pastas and salads on the menu.
Old world European charm greets upon entering Dome Cafe, with its trademark espresso-stained wooden floor to its painstakingly re-created nicotine stained ceiling, shiny brass coffee hoppers.
This lifestyle cafe creates a cozy meeting place with couches and bench seating, an assortment of newspaper and magazines, wifi and relaxing music. Function rooms are available for groups needing more privacy.
It is my second time at Dome. My first visit was a feast in my taste buds. The sandwiches and the main entrees are to die for. I was lucky to have been invited for the launch of their "Domefied" menu and the Dome Connoisseur Card.
DOMEFIED FOOD ITEMS
Garden Salad
Mixed Grilled Sausages
Hungarian Sausage Sandwich
Vegetarian Sandwich
Salmon and Egg Mayo Sandwich
Classic Burger
Classic Primavera Pasta
Sweet and Spicy Grilled Salmon
Coolers
As soon as the Grilled Salmon landed on the table, I knew I'm up for it first. The grilled salmon was glazed with sweet and spicy mayo served with rice pilaf and asparagus. It had me salivating and every bite was glorious.
The Vegetarian Sandwich was another favorite too. The open faced sandwich on pizza bread with roasted vegetables drizzled with basil pesto and feta cheese was a unique flavor of experience. I also indulged on the Classic Burger- this Instagram worthy munch is heavy on flavorful beef patty and loads of American cheese, tomato, fresh onion and bacon. It was heaven!
I'm a big pasta lover- and the classic primavera pasta is something my taste buds will definitely feast on. The pasta was a perfect cradle for the cream sauce. The pasta is blasted with broccoli, asparagus and cherry tomatoes and dusting of parmesan cheese makes this dish sing.
I also had bites of the salmon and egg mayo sandwich which is very flavorful; I was looking for some 'oomph' on the hungarian sausage sandwich- but it seems lacking, for me.
I thought the mixed grilled sausages lacked in presentation. I loved the cheese Hungarian sausage a lot and the tartar sauce dip complemented the flavor.
Our eyes popped as soon as the coolers landed on our tables. The colors are vibrant and they sure are perfect for the hot weather.
After a gastronomic alchemy, it was time for dessert. I dragged my fork at the carrot cake (which is a sure favorite of mine) and it was divine.

In the Philippines, Dome Cafe has existed since 1988. With the addition of the new 'Domefied' Food Items, it's not impossible this food haven will count more decades.
I loved that each painstakingly select ingredient contributes to the greatness of the dish. Dome Cafe offers a fine range of dishes for the discerning palates. And as always, the great food never fails.
